Brandon Mitchell was the best QB today
Your must have heard a different than me. He said Allen came in ahead and threw the deep ball very well other than a couple late ones. Mitchell did some good things and lead them down the field for a score. Said it wasn't pretty but got the job done.
Maybe to you that says he was the best QB but to me it shows they both still have work to do.
That being said I wouldn't be surprised to see Mitchell start out taking the snaps during the scrimmage Saturday and maybe even get more than half like Allen did last week. You can't say it is a competition and then always give one guy more snaps than the other.

One of my friends who works for the uca athletic dept says defonta lowe has said he wants to transfer there. Not sure how credible that is though...says he like never went to class and thats what got him in trouble
What does Lowe think, that he won't have to go to class at UCA?

Saw where Ollison started at OT while Brey Cook played G...interesting
I like it. They've questioned Cook's quickness and ability to play in space out on the edge. Cook and Smothers at the G would be a nice combo. I expect Koehler to possibly get shifted to C. I hope the Fr. OTs can be afforded to RS. A line of Hurd, Cook, Swanson, Smothers/McClure, Beck/Ollison comes together that might get us through the season.

Ash commented on how bad our tackling is.
Boy is that a shocker to hear....
Looking forward to that improvement.

That dude should proof read more but it was very informative.

Charlie Partridge discussing the DLine after practice.
I really like this guy and think he will do some good things for us. I also liked his comment about possibly getting 3-4 DEs on the field for 3rd down passing situations.

So our Nascar package lives on.

They like to call that package the amoeba. They stay in a two point stance and constantly feint and move around. I like the package because we're whooping their arse with science.

Not familiar with the Patriots defense. Watch the Wisconsin/Nebraska championship game this year. They did it quite a bit on 3rd down. They got burnt once, should've had a 10yd sack, but the rest of the time they were stopping Nebraska's shite in the backfield.

sounds about right. The whole point of it is to be able to apply pressure from any position on the field without the QB being able to tell where it's coming from. Very effective 3rd down tactic. I've always felt we were a step slow on 3rd down to get the sack so hopefully he tells someone they can actually hit the QB this year.

They have the option to blitz the line or drop into coverage. Normally they had at least two break through the line every time. They get a running start and just slip through the gaps. Deatrich Wise will be a beast in this formation in years to come. Mark it down.

Amoeba/Psycho Fronts
I asked Smart Football about it and he gave me this link. I remember they were absolutely killing with it.

Yeah, Nebraska couldn't stop them at all. Four missed tackles behind the line of scrimmage set up that long run by Martinez. Other than that play they owned Nebraska in the backfield on 3rd down.

It would be nice to see a little creativity like that this year. I still cringe at the terrible defensive calls against Ole Miss on both of their length of the field, end of the half scoring drives that they had against us. Those cost us that game and were just painful to watch.

Thx for inspiring the thread I'm about to start.
