Anyone have any experience in Tallahassee, FL?

I am honored to use my 4000th post to ask the SECROT/OTB/etc about the state capitol of Florida. Porker Face and his favorite traveling partner, Bacon Queen, will be visiting Tallahassee in the near future.
Things to do, places to see? Going on a campus tour of FSU to check out grad schools so we will be in that area

It's a college town with a large "bad part" of town. Comparable to BR with a better bar scene

Just stick to famu's campus and the surrounding area. You'll be fine.

BR is a lot bigger. There is more to do in BR. BR is better in every way. The bar scene is okay here. I would say it's more akin to Biloxi/Gulfport without the gambling.
A big difference in BR and Tallahassee is this; I bought my son a new bike for Christmas. He wanted a "GT". I had to drive to a bike shop in Thomasville, GA about 45 minutes away to get it. I never once in 13 years had to leave the city of BR to buy something.

Not exactly what one expects when you think of Florida. Reminds me of other capital cities like Montgomery and Raleigh.

I have only been to Raleigh twice but it has a lot more to offer than Tallahassee
