Did he ask for it?

What's the story?

He looks like Rotnei Clarke if they hit him in the face with a tailgate and injected testosterone in his jaw.

Never mind, NW fired their coach and he asked for his release.

Guess its between Seton Hall, Us, and Bama is thrown into the mix because he was committed to them at one time.

That's what everyone has been saying.

That everyone is saying is SF-PF.

Wonder who else is transferring if he commits.

Only 2 scholarships available if Mickelson is transferring and Young goes pro I believe.

Henderson was a walk-on who used a scholly this year.

+ Kingsley, Portis, Jones
- Powell/Mick and BJ
= full roster right now

Powell is coming back.

BJ, Mick, and least 1 other are gone.

I think we'll end up taking 3 JUCO's.

Then he "takes" Henderson's scholly from this year.

With Portis and Kingsly we are "full".

For every JUCO taken we will have to have some one leave.

Mickelson, Scott, and Wagner are the usual suspects in transfer talks.

Maybe, Maybe not Scott, depends on Powell as with Wade and Clarke graduating next year, that opens up 3 spots for next year's class unless I'm forgetting someone.

Powell takes Henderson's scholly, Portis and Kingsley leave 0 open spots.

James was just offered so it appears the Mickelson rumors are likely true since James is about an 80% lock to take our offer.

We're still looking at at least 1 other JUCO seriously and likely another, which tells me Wagner and someone else is gone.

I don't think Scott will be asked to transfer, believe he has a very high GPA (honor roll last year) and can still offer some experience off the bench even if in limited minutes.

I really don't want to see Madden go at all, still think he has high potential.

If I had to pick one Scott for sure, but not sure with how good his academics are and what not and how that would affect us, I don't believe if someone leaves in good academic standard then we're fine.

If they transfer it is minus 1 point, in the formula.

It is 5/6 for good academic standing and progress.

So if they transfer it is 4/6.

However, if they graduate it is 6/6 which is a huge boost to the APR, Powell gives that this year and for the class he signed with over the 4 year period.

cliffs notes version.

That is something else to consider, if Scott is going to graduate, he probably stays same with Wade, I would not think you would ask them to leave, but maybe Scott wants to leave for more playing time next year.

I think BJ's academics has to be taken into account for this year as well, they may want to take more than they are able too when it is all said in done thanks to this guy... if the rumors are true.

Yeah Scott was academic honor roll last year and got another award this offseason for academics which is why I said I think he stays.

Confusing, don't see anyone else that could leave that I would be okay with, Jacorey Williams maybe but with Mickelson gone, don't want to lose another big even if we are bringing in 2, with Clarke a senior next year.

Update on Jamal Jones Reply
The 6-8 Searcy (Ark.) native who received an Arkansas offer a couple of days ago.

Jones told me he really won't have a solid list of favorites until after the Final Four. He spent the season not talking to coaches because he wanted to focus on winning a JUCO national championship, so really he's still very early in the process right now. No surprise, but he did tell me Arkansas will be getting one of his visits when he starts setting dates, and it sounded to me like Texas A&M is going to be the other team to beat because they've "put in the most work" with him and were "in the gym" more than anyone.

Jones said the offer from Arkansas was special because he always dreamed of getting one from the homestate Razorbacks. He's also really high on their style of play and Anderson told him personally that they don't have a guy like him on the roster so he wanted to make him a priority.

Very well spoken and I actually touched on the trouble he ran into at Ole Miss and he gave a great answer by taking full responsibility and saying he just hadn't grown out of his high school ways when he was down there. Said he's grown up a lot and realized when he left Ole Miss that he's probably down to one final shot and didn't want to screw it up. Sounds like a good guy to me.

Gut tells me he'll be a Hog and I know Bobby Portis also told me he thinks "he'll be joining us soon." We're in the process of updating his profile now. He's going to check it out and let me know of any changes to be made.

Watching this NCAA (more basketball in 1 1/2 days than I've watch all year) shows me that there are enough talented players to go around. We just need 10-12 that can buy into CMA's system and Selection Sunday will once again be something we're interested in.
