Whats are some tasty soft foods I can eat? That way I'm not stuck eating only soup for 2 weeks

Not gonna lie, it's absolutely awful. That whole "endless ice cream" bit is BS. Your throat is WAY too sore for that. The first few days it's a chore just to down water and vitamins.
I had mine out when I was 17 and went from 155 to 145 in about ten days because I literally couldnt eat.

The problem is that hydro only does so much. It's not like a knee surgery where you can avoid irritating it while it heals, your throat is constantly being assaulted and irritated. orse yet, if you try and not swallow it just hurts that much worse once you have to because it dries out.

That sucks. I still have mine. I've never had tonsillitis.

Had mine out when I was 25. I guess I was pretty tough back then because I ate ... well, you wouldn't believe it, it was dumb but I was hungry.
Anyways, you're gonna be sore. Soft stuff, stick with the soft stuff. My wife made me lasagnia the next day and I managed to get it down - but I was on some good pain killers.
They are gonna tell you nothing but jello and ice cream, but I think if I had to do it over again I'd make myself a lot of serious protein shakes.

I plan on making fruit smoothies
. The only problem I really am going to have is I have trouble gaining weight, and it seems a lot of people lose weight after they get their tonsils out. The protein shake is definitely a good idea to try and keep that weight though. Thanks Posted on 3/11/13 at 1:12 pm to dawg4lyfe
Got them out today. I have a question for people who got them out in their teens, did yall have irregular urine flow? Sorry of the question is weird, just not sure if its a side effect or what. Tia
