Tech Board: Need help with slow internet browsing.

Tried Malwarebytes and it miraculously came back with 0 malicious items detected in every category... given the age of this laptop, that strikes me as amazing, but at the same time, the only sites I really visit on this pc is TD, Yellowbullet, my photobucket account, and occasionally the Call of Duty site and youtube. I only click on articles linked on TD if its a site I recognize ie. espn, cnn, or some reputable news site.
I dont use this box for porn since its at work. Oddly enough though, half of my home box's usage comes from Tube8, redtube, and faptu and it flies like a screaming eagle. It never takes longer than 2 seconds to load a page on TD, and that is if I have something downloading in the back ground.
Anyone have any more ideas besides a total wipe and reinstall? There doesnt seem to be any more problems with performance outside of web browsing. I do a lot of photoshop and excel on this box and they both run very well with no hitches and I really have a LOT of other programs that would be a major pain to have to try to reinstall since I have NO IDEA what i've done with the install discs and such. So I dont wanna have to go that route if I can at all avoid it.
HELP!!! TIA

do you have a lot of printer drivers or printer software? can cause some issues with using your bandwidth

does this only happen at work, or at home as well? If it's only at work, it could just be network traffic. How many people use the internet at work? They could be streaming stuff, or god knows what. There's a ton of things it could be, without it being an issue with the computer.

Check your wireless card. Maybe replace it with another and see if that helps any. Also, run Microsoft Malicious Software scanner and/or a good AV like AVG.

Is the slowness only when browsing or when operating other programs on the computer? If it's just the browser I'd be willing to bet it's your company's network.
Photoshop also takes up quite a bit and if it's on an older computer it can slow things down.

No printer at all. No need for one here.

Small business. I am the only person on the network at all. It's wireless but I dont give the password out to any of the employees to even use on their phones. My laptop, my phone, and my ipad are the only devices using it and never more than 1 at a time and half the time my ipad isnt even here.

Nothing else running in the back ground except my kindle app and excel. And like I said, im the only one on the network and its a damn near brand new U-verse connection. My phone has no problems at all though loading pages so its got to be on the laptop itself.

How old is the computer? What OS are you running?

has this been going on since you got the uverse installed, or is it a recent thing? Have you installed anything on the computer recently? Hit speedtest.net and see what type of speeds/ping your getting.
With DSL your speed is directly tied to how far away you are from the uverse connection. The further out you get, the slower it goes.
Do you have the ability to hook up directly to your router with an ethernet cable as opposed to going wireless and see if that may help improve anything.

laptop is not quite 2 years old and running windows 7.
Its just recent. And like I said, my iphone pulls up full version web pages lightning fast so its not the wifi itself. I suppose I could dig around and see if I have an ethernet cable somewhere and try that. It could be the internal wireless adapter going bad on me. I hadnt really thought of that until you mentioned it.

Meh, not a single fricking ethernet cable in the house. Which is crazy since I am a cable hoarder from hell. I have cables in a drawer at my house that I dont even remember what they are for.

I'm suspicious of the zero malicious items from Malwarebytes. It usually finds something--even if its a relatively innocuous cookie or something. Based on those "clean" results, I'm wondering if there may be a virus on the machine. I would want to run Microsoft Security Essentials or another antivirus software.
Also, you can get some basic network information by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL (at least on a Windows 7 box) and choosing Networking in the task manager. I'd want to make sure the connection itself is strong enough. Wireless signals can sometimes get flaky even when they are in close proximity to the router. So, yeah, you're going to have to deal with the ethernet cable for a while.

I run AVG a couple times a week and keep up on all the updates so it SHOULDNT be a virus but you know how that goes.
I've looked at the network information in task manager and it looks to be ok oddly enough.
