Because that makes too much sense. The government lies, so it HAS to be aliens.
As a matter of fact, that meteor was really an advanced alien weapon that is being tested here on earth.
Everyone knows earth is the universal alien weapon and medical (probe) testing center.
No need to worry about comets, meteors or any other true "threat" from outer space that mankind's science has taught us.
Hell no, worry about fricking aliens.
Because the aliens are the real deal guys the internet and late night talk a.m. radio says so....
