Unfortunately, he's a very good coach. Taking all new players every year (even talented ones) and getting them to play well together is not easy.

Why wouldn't call a guy who has been to an Elite Eight, a Final Four, and won a National Championship in 3 out of 4 years NOT a top coach?

He's basically the basketball version of Saban. Average Xs and Os mind, but he does an exceptional job of getting talented players to check their egos at the door and play together. One bad year doesn't erase all of his past success. The problem he has with this team is that none of them are interested in playing defense and Goodwin is the most selfish player in the SEC not named Marshall Henderson. Donovan had some shite years at UF after winning it all with the same starting 5, losing them, and having to rebuild. You'd trade Fox for him in a heartbeat though.

Believe it or not Wooden had several seasons they didn't make the NCAA Tournament at UCLA. 7 or 8 I think.
