Look how bad UK is without their number 1 lottery NBA pick. Every single player on this Kentucky team is a 4 star or better. Yet they are losing by 25 in the first half to an awful Tennessee team.
UK has zero offense and plays poor defense. Calapari just gets by with 5 star recruits each year. He is a HORRIBLE in game coach.

I went to countless games in Memphis and he had an almost unstoppable offense there..... He didn't have a five stars back then

Actually, you're wrong. Polson is a former walk on and Mays was a three star recruit.
We have ten available players. Three are walk ons. That leaves seven other available players. One a former walk on, one a transfer from Wright State, and one has only seen the floor in garbage time against bad teams.

I'm not sure you have made the requisite showing. The Cocks got blown out by LSU at home and the coach said they gave up and have no heart and that he may have lost them. I'm not sure how that qualifies Coach Martin as better than Cal. That being said, I like Coach Martin. You just picked a bad week to cherry-pick.

It really is hard to coach a team up when they are all freshmen who think they should already be in the NBA. Florida had a similar problem in 2008-2009. We had the #1 class (but still no where near as talented as Cal's classes), and the freshmen and sophomores could never get it together. You need some junior/senior leadership.

Recruiting is a part of coaching. Calipari is still the best coach in the league. Martin is #3.
