He was.dump truck of a running back, his last name was Lane. The guy was fun to watch because he would run over players on every play. What ever happened to him?

Played pretty decently for them this season, also.

Yep, dude had some off years but is actually a family friend. Never quit working hard, and got to the NFL. No one deserves it more.

He's played pretty well, Miami underutilized him a little bit... and I say that mostly because there is not a lot of talent on the Dolphin offense.

I love backs like that. I hope Jalston Fowler comes back healthy this year.

He's still A&M's all time TD leader if I am not mistaken.

He's destroyed a couple of defenders throughout the year. He's devistating when he's motivated; hope he remains motivated enough to work hard and remain an NFL professional.

Jorvorskie Lane
Fish year he was 5'11 and about 260. Great runner.
He became immensely fat. During his Sophomore & Junion years, he fluctuated between 285 & 310 or so. Yes we had a 5'11 310lb running back. Amazing thing is that he was shockingly light on his feet. He would actually make LBs miss. His collisions with DBs were absolutely hilarious to watch.
Mike Sherman showed up before his senior year. Told Lane 1) that he was switching to FB and 2) to get under 270 or so or he wouldn't play. Lane reported to summer camp at 295 or so.
Got almost no playing time his senior year. It didn't really matter because we had the worst A&M OL of the last 40 years. Nobody could run behind it.
Lane didn't go to the combine. He was sick for A&M's pro day. Held his own pro day at a local high school and weighed close to 300 and ran a 5.1 40.
Lane shockingly went undrafted.
Played in some crap minor league and eventually washed out.
About a year ago, he decided he was going to get in shape and try to get into the NFL. He was well over 300 at that point. Against all odds, he dropped about 50lbs and got his strength and wind back.
He managed to get signed for the Dolphins training camp. Showed up under 260. He was a presumed cut from the get go, but once again, he beat the odds and made the active roster.
Looked good in limited playing time. He had crappy ypc averages, but he was used almost exclusively in goal line and 3rd & short situations. He usually got what they needed. He also punished a lot of players on blocks and special teams plays
Stay tuned...
