Let's say ol' Johnny Football parties a little too hard in the offseason and is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel and held at ransom for the duration of the season.

We would give up football for that year. Millions of dollars and hundreds of players can't withstand the loss of one player.

If we had nown before Showers transferred and he was going to be the starter, probably 9-3.
We'd lose to Bama, LSU and Ole Miss or a WTF game. Without Manziel we're still clearly better than nine teams on our schedule.

Showers is transferring. The incoming freshmen will be the 2nd and 3rd best QBs on campus. Would not be good.
