I present russel Shepard vs Johnny manziel...5 star mister all world whose the same size as Russell Wilson yet couldn't qb at lsu vs mister 3 star DUI pimple face......how'd that one work out for us lsu fans....these guys are young and will develop...it's the coaching staffs that matter LINK

When you look at the bigger picture, the rankings do matter. There are plenty of 5 star busts and 2 star superstars.
The teams that get the most talent are usually better. You still have to coach them up but the talent makes a big difference.

Top class indicates depth and sustainability - if you can coach them up.

8 of the last 11 years at least one team with a top 5 recruiting class played in the BCS title game.

Stop putting so much stock in regular season games. They don't mean that much if you get a rematch and kick the crap out of them in the BCS championship.

There is truth to recruiting but they are not the entire picture. IMHO as long as you are in the top 15-20 you have the talent to compete with anyone on a given day.
