Yeah... uuuhhhh, no.

UF is for real and once Mizzou gets Bowers back they will be strong but UK and OM are average at best and will be one or two and done in the tourney.

I hate it, but it's true. We were exposed as a thoroughly average team against UK and UF. We will make the tourney and if seeded high enough, might get to the 2nd round, but a 1st round drubbing would not surprise me.

PROVE ME WRONG, ANDY.

Alabama is 14-7 and 6-2 in the SEC.

I wonder if they get in the NCAA tournament if they finish the regular season at 22-9 and 14-4 in the SEC (two more losses to Ole Miss and Florida on the road). It's hard to believe 14-4 in the SEC would get left out, but I think it's actually possible. I think they would sneak in barely, but it might take a win or two in the SEC tournament still.

I guess what I am saying is that the SEC really sucks in basketball this year.

They were left out two years ago with 12-4 record, second best in SEC. 21-11 overall.

I think Missouri can get in going 12-6 or better in conference...Alabama, Kentucky and Ole Miss have to go 13-5. Maybe not Kentucky (name power plus SOS), but definitely Ole Miss and Bama.

I think Bama can get in, Missouri and Ole Miss need to be careful and better win some games in the tourney

Missouri has a much higher RPI than Bama

If Alabama goes 13-5, that means they are going to lose to a really bad RPI team in the last 10 games (Ole Miss and Florida are the only respectable RPI teams left for Bama I think). I think losing to any bad RPI team from here on out would be fatal to Alabama's chances at the tournament unless they were able to counter that with beating Florida on the road (not happening).

Maybe before 2011 when we got left out at 12-4, but if we're 14-4 with losses to Ole Miss and Florida then us getting left out wouldn't be any more surprising than 2011. If we're 14-4 with a win over Ole Miss or Florida then I'm sure we'd get in. The SECt will be crucial too.

Good points made about getting left out with a 12-4 record in 2011. However, Alabama's RPI is about 20 places higher this season as opposed to this point in the 2011 season. Bama didn't crack the Top 80 in the RPI in 2011 until about mid February. They are around 60 this year. A 13-5 record (assuming losses in their last 2 games at Ole Miss and at Florida) would mean Bama going 7-1 over their next 8 games likely getting them close to cracking the Top 50 in the RPI. Not having a home game against Ole Miss could really come back to bite us this year.
