it seems that the fan bases are completely consumed with one another...

LSU comes in 3rd on Bama's historical radar behind Tennessee and Auburn

LSU vs Bama is the biggest rival game between non-rival teams

Bama fans claim they dont care about LSU just to mess with tiger fans..although we aren't on the UT or Auburn level of hate, it's pretty heated still
Try living in the state and wearing LSU every friday/saturday on game week..you would have thought i was the al-kahda with some of the hateful looks i got

This. But the game means more than either at the moment.
It's ok to call it a rivalry. JMHO

Yes, it's my favorite rivalry. LSU has no legitimate traditional rivals, and for Bama, auburn isn't worthy of being a rival and Tennesse/Bama has no enjoyment for me anymore after Fulmer.
LSU is the only rival that I don't hate, I just get nervous when we play and enjoy the game.

how'd you find out? the deal was supposed to be completely top level clearance... like, double secret probationary type clearance.

They absolutely and completely hate us.
(They will deny the hate in this very thread.)

it had some potential for a year or two or three. from 2007 through prob 2009. imho.
the Miles/Saban thing has pretty much died down tho. when LSU saw Miles could compete with Saban their hatred for Saban died enough to let everything be more like the AU/LSU big game environment.
had Saban gotten to Bama and LSU had never beaten us to this point, i think the rivalry potential would have sky rocketed.

Ah, the ole "paint the bad guys in a way that they can't win when you're talking smack about them" routine.
seriously, i like LSU. aggressive love for football... i am envious of the decibels that i've heard LSU fans get to in even SMALL number.

We don't consider anyone a rival and we like it that way, and we aren't high on Alabama's rival list.

Yes...but obviously behind UT & AU by a lot.

Just messin', tbh--we don't hate y'all either, for the most part, but I think the foundation of a good rivalry is there.

i agree, if A&M can actually continue their current level of success, which is much easier said than accomplished. i think it also really depends on the landscape of the game when all the super-conference thing gets all set and rolling.
LSU needs someone in the west to truly hate on and be hated back by.
