...because the NCAA is dealing with UNIVERSITIES...not a minor league

These are football players, but they are first and foremost students.

I don't know what's going to happen with the deer spray stuff and Alabama...it could be a minor slap on the wrist, or it could be big

The fact that they sprayed this stuff in their mouths, trying to ingest it is bad...and the fact they did this before the National Championship game is bad too...

I could see the NCAA asking them to vacate that game, but that's quite a game to vacate...

If it WAS the NFL, I don't think anything would come of it, except maybe the players would be dealt with somehow...

I could see the possibility of this stuff escalating with the NCAA though...including all schools involved, and possible multiple vacated wins

You're out of line there, hoss. TAMU fans are like Bama fans, only with almost no trophies. So, I can't even fathom the likes of y'all if you had them.

The topic at hand is about Bama. Bama fans get damned on here for talking about other teams and not their own... and then we get told we're narcissistic if we talk about our own team.

You do realize the spray doesn't work, don't you? Unless, perhaps, you happen to be a football playing deer.

In the NFL, this might be a stronger point....players could possibly hire legal counsel and defend themselves with this...

I can't say for sure how the NCAA will react, but I can't imagine they'll be happy with student athletes trying to ingest a banned substance, whether it works or not...

not necessarily...IF the NCAA goes after Bama for this stuff, they'll probably be looking at LSU, Auburn, and anyone else that was said to have taken this stuff...

Well, we already know that the first LSU-Bama game in 2011 didn't matter, so it is really no big deal if LSU has to vacate it or not.

If LSU vacates the first game, then Bama wins the SEC West and Georgia wins the SEC and 1/9 never happens.

I'll take it.

IMO, the fact that these damn SWAT carney's continue to add schools to the list of users every damn time they open their mouth's means that the NCAA will have to look into every school that has been accused.

First it was Bama & LSU, then they added Auburn, then UGA, then OleMiss. shite there's no way the NCAA can ignore claims that nearly half of the SEC programs were using their crap products.

You say that, and it's logical, but somehow the NCAA decided to ignore the list of other SEC schools that were accused of offering money for Albert Means, and only addressed the school that landed him.

Both Alabama and LSU have tested negative for PEDs (Alabama following the jan 9 game). Both universities have taken the necessary precautions against Keys and Moss.

NCAA will do nothing to neither school involved...

Now in the near future, the NCAA may incorporate a mandatory random blood test.

I think it would suck if we had to vacate the 2011 SEC Championship though...

I think it's rather pathetic that a player would put an unknown and unproven substance in his body just because some yahoo says it will help him.

2. Clearly, the NFL is not interested in penalizing the teams for the actions of players, unless it is clear and unavoidable. The NCAA is willing to sacrifice the program for the actions of former players. I think you'd have a hard time arguing against this.

Not too hard, actually. Saints fans will definitely take issue with your premise. The Saints lost draft picks and their head coach for a year, as well as his replacement for more than a few games. I'm not sure how this is "not interested in penalizing the teams". I hope Mr. Goodell brings his own sandwiches to N.O., because the natives also disagree with your point very strongly.

It's true that the NFL comes down on individual players rather than teams for drug violations, illegal hits, etc., but I don't see that being much different than the NCAA. Where the NCAA cracks down is systematic cheating by a team with improper player benefits. There is no equivalent in the NFL. The closest I can come up with is the Patriots just flat out cheating, and the team was clearly punished there.

My guess is the deer antler nonsense will blow over for all of Ray Lewis, 'Bama, and Georgia.

You guys didn't win because of deer antler spray. It was because of being goosed by the antlers in the locker room before the game.

It should be mandatory now and back when. Les didn't let it get out of hand because he actually tested and following through.

Whatever happens I assume it will be the same for all involved including LSU, UGA, Auburn, etc

im a big time LSU fan and I don't think they should even investigate the bama kids for this farce. magnets to stop cell signals?!!!! And the deer antler spray is such a gimmick. I do see the point of how no one even questions the ravens but at the college level it's somewhat of a big deal. bama beat us because they were better, not from some magnet or spray they took 2 Days bf the game.

But, maybe their magnets sucked out all of our strength. You ever think of that?

I knew that game was fishy. Maybe their deer antler spray and magnets caused LSU to get in a pre-game locker room fight and caused Les to completely forget how to coach or make in-game adjustments.

Yep. Sounds good. I'd go with that.
