War Brew Eagle

The College of Human Sciences will offer a graduate certificate in "brewing sciences."

Seems pretty cool and useful, given the popularity of microbreweries. Although, I don't know if I would call it a "science."

If this was around while I was in college I would've done it.

I am still thinking that opening up a brewery is my dream. Once I have enough saved I'm going to make a real brew operation at my house and bottle it for friends and family to buy. Hopefully it takes off.

Pretty cool, and very smart of Auburn to offer this. It is seriously growing in popularity across the country. Most of the brew schools are out West as well so they may get tons of new applicants they otherwise wouldn't have.

I'd be interested in a marijuana cultivation class if they ever decide to establish one.

same here. I've dabbled in home brewing and it would be cool as shite to own a brewery one day.

Ole Miss has everything in place for this. Just waiting on legalization.

I think that's cool. It's such a popular thing now, and I think it's great to have more options for brewing programs.

Mizzou's Ag College offers a program in wine-making. There is a Grape and Wine Institute and the students learn to grow grapes and make various kinds of wine. They've won some awards too. Our climate is pretty good for grapes - I'd think parts of Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky and Arkansas might be as well.

Nice! Brewing your own beer is awesome once you get good at it. My friends and I brew all the time and get together and drink it all.

So, when you guys say that brewing is your dream...

Are we talking a dream you think is obtainable like owning a home or paying off school loans?

Or something fantastical like Manti Teo's GF wearing Dan Marino's Super Bowl ring?

I tailgated with a guy this year at Auburn who was really hyped about this.

Granted he ran a food truck outside a gas station a 15 minute walk from the stadium, but he was applying to it and stoked about it.

LSU was supposed to open its own brewery and offer classes but somehow that got shot down after a new administration took over. They failed to grasp it from a recruiting and revenue generating aspect and saw it more as a brand issue. They were afraid people would begin to associate LSU with alcohol consumption, as if people don't already
