With Rich B potentially leaving, Ive seen talk on here of moving SCott Fountain to on the field. Why not hire Trooper for SF's current role. He would not have any real power, and would still be a recruiting tool. What say you?

I thought about this before. I would rather just cut ties with him.

I don't think he'd be able to recruit if he had an administration job (correct me if I'm wrong)

Off Campus, No.

On Campus, why not?

That sounds like a terrible idea, IMO... you have a guy like Taylor for his recruiting... he's not particular good at coaching. Putting him in an off-field role takes away the only real thing he's good at.

Yea it does him no good and he wouldnt take that job. At this point in his career it would be beneath him and a big step back in the direction he wants to go.

I don't know all the rules and regulations, but I would assume this would be in the grey area

He was one of the better coaches Chizik had on staff?

How? He can still recruit on campus. Kinda like Brother Chette does.

No thanks. The gain of bringing him back isn't worth it. I don't want him looming over the program anymore.

The only contact he could have is on campus... no phone calls, texts, social media, etc... basically 98% of recruiting he wouldn't be able to do. Relationships are built away from campus.

Troop will be ok. Do not see him coming back in any capacity.

He will be able to recruit off campus with the new rule changes can't he?

So I was told last night that Trooper turned down an offer with the Bears. But according to many poster on here he is a horrible coach and all he can do is recruit.

I thought he was a pretty good coach. I didn't think he was good enough to coach in the NFL though.

I can say that about a lot of NFL coaches these days.

Hell Monty Kiffen just got hired by the Cowboys. The game passed him years ago. Not that hard to get an NFL job.
