There are plenty of outstanding backfields to be expected in 2013 within the SEC. Not the least of which will be:

QB - Conner Shaw and Dylan Thompson (Spurrier calls them the best two QBs in the same backfield in the country.) Add Brandon Nosovitch and Connor Mitch, who is already enrolled, and we're looking okay for some time to come.

RB - Mike Davis, Brandon Wilds, Shon Carson, Kendric Salley, David Williams and Jamari Smith.

no one is arguing that malena is on the level of yeldon or gurley. but manziel cant be overlooked. he gets the most carries, he gets the most yards, he gets the TD'S. he is basically our #1 running back

Yeah, what was I thinking. Having a two time national champion at QB, a great RB (Yeldon), and a great RB/FB if he's healthy (Fowler). Drake played really well in his limited carries. We're also bringing in 3 or 4 of the best RBs from high school.

Our #1 running back?

He was the SEC's #1 running back wasn't he?

People forget that A&M has the #3 RB in the country from 2011 and the #2 RB in the country from 2012 on our roster to go with Malena.

You could make an argument that jff is better than Murray if you want, although I'd disagree. But to sa ATM backfield is better than UGA then you are an idiot. If lacy wasn't gone, include bama.

Alabama and it will not be close. I think Alabama will win the National Championship for a third year in a row and then the decline will begin.

Aggies.

Very few know our current backfield on here outside of Aggies, let alone Brandon and Tra.

They will find out soon.

How in the world would UGA be behind LSU.

-----

Not that much of a reach. I would have the rankings as a toss up between LSU, Bama, UGA. 1A, B, and C.

Hill, Blue, Hilliard, Magee and potentially Brazil(4.32 speed)

You do realize that the QB position is the "backfield" as well, right?
Gurley had better stats, but Hill didn't even take a snap the first couple games. Didn't really get much of a chance till the second half of the season

Everyone here is hating on Mett, and while he didn't play the entire season like we would have liked him to, he is going into his senior year and second season as a starter. The weapons on the perimeter should be improved and it's not crazy talk to think he will surpass 3k yards passing and have a good season.

Mett may very well have a better season that even qualifies as "good." However, the guys mentioned most in this thread are already better and have just as much if not more experience. Mett is entering his second year as a starter, so is JFF who won the Heisman. AJ is entering his third season as a starter and won NCs in his first two. He was the MVP of one title game and threw 4 TDs in the other. Murray is seemingly entering his tenth year as a starter and is much more polished than Mett.

I'm not debating any of that, and I don't care what the backfield rankings are.

I'm just saying I'd expect to see a lot of improvement coming next year.
