Has anyone started a smack thread here yet about how you copied our mascot? It's funny to me that Ga tries to call themselves the "real" Bulldogs.

You were 21 years late officially and 51 years unofficially.

Isn't this the same guy to got accepted to UGA but didn't qualify, so he went to CC. Now he blew out his knee, and UGA still is firmly committed to signing him.

So why would he go anywhere else?

Y'all don't even use the same types of dogs. Nobody can argue with the fact that UGA looks a lot cooler than bully either

In the links you posted...

Our website says:

. Yet references to school teams and athletes as Bulldogs actually go back to early in the century, and this nickname was used almost interchangably with both Aggies and Maroons, since at least 1905.

Georgia's says:
quote:

But on Nov. 3, 1920, Morgan Blake of the ATLANTA JOURNAL wrote about school nicknames and said "The Georgia Bulldogs" would sound good because there is a certain dignity about a bulldog, as well as ferocity." After a 0-0 tie with Virginia in Charlottesville on Nov. 6, 1920, ATLANTA CONSTITUTION writer Cliff Wheatley used the name "Bulldogs" in his story five times.

We adopted our first live Bulldog in 1905 -- and had multiple bulldogs between that time and when it became our official game mascot in 1935. UGA I was in 1956. Although I see Georgia referencing earlier bulldog mascots prior to UGA, I see no documentation of those animals...

UGA adopted the Bulldog because Yale were also the Bulldogs. Everything about UGA is modeled after Yale, outside of the fact we are public and the academics are obviously not on the same level. We were founded by Yale alumni.

Do not want.

Taking a player who just tore their ACL is dumb, IMO.

Especially a JUCO player who will only be here two years.

JUCO's are meant to be immediate impact players. Toby won't be.

Or get a guy out of high school who will stay 4 years.

Waste of a scholarship, IMO.

Players recover from ACL injuries better today than in the past look at Adrian Peterson

Toby will be a UGA DAWG. I think you always take one of the top JUCO guys if you can get him. Guys are coming back in six to nine months from an ACL. Toby will play and be a contributor next season in Athens.

Darkhorse alter?

Nah, you have "completely different" sentence structure...

Hey, I like your enthusiasm though...
