LSU will again have an incredible staff. Eades & Nola will be our frontline weekenders. Eades is looking like a First Round pick.
Katz and Rhymes will anchor the offense. We have a few key areas to watch there.
Can Alex Bregman be the SEC Frosh POY type talent the Scouts made him out to be playing SS from Day 1?
Can LSU find an adequate lead off hitter?
Can C Ty Ross again build on an incrementally better season as a Sophomore to become a legitimately good SEC Hitter?

Ummm, :::: clears throat with deep husky manly sound :::: ummmm, excuse me, but has anyone here, in this thread, yet mentioned that preseason polls don't mean a frickin' thing when it comes to NCAA baseball?
No polls matter until May - and even then mid May.
Also, you can believe this or not, but the PAC 12 and ACC are going to be loaded for bear this year as well. It is going to be a dogfight in the Regionals this year.

Here's the bottom line ...
LSU is the team to beat in the West.
South Carolina is the team to beat in the East.
Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Vandy, et al, are all contenders. A&M probably too, I dunno. Truth be told, anyone in the SEC might come out of nowhere and shock the world.
Of all sports in the SEC, SEC baseball is by far the most competitive top to bottom year-in and year-out. It's a frickin' war every weekend once the conference schedule kicks-in.

When you hear sirens in the background and fear for the fans who stayed for the 21 inning game until the wee hours you know shite just ain't right.
Still perturbed about that one.

at this rate it looks like lsu may get to practice outside as often as teams from the northeast.

I almost threw up in my mouth when I saw Ryne Stanek listed as a player for Miss Stake

You're going out on a big time limb with that one.

quote:Reasoning behind this? Arkansas is returning 10 pitchers on a team that posted a team ERA under 3 last year. I may be going full-homer, but I don't see how Arkansas can't be considered the favorite in the West.
LSU is the team to beat in the West.
