Nope, is it worth the expense. I have Insanity and it is ok. Gets a little repetitious for me.
Weighed in at 260.4lbs this morning. Had fastfood for dinner last night, was coaching basketball until about 8pm and had to feed the kids. I did foregoe the fries, does that help?

CrossFit will change your life. Perfect balance of strength and conditioning. Will literally transform your body. They can scale it down for any fitness level. I had done for 3 years until my kid was born last Fall which derailed my shite big time (get ready college fricks!).
Recently started D1 bc my wife and some friends cut a group discount. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Field type training 4 days a week. One week circuit mixture training. 4 days/week have an option to lift with a set weight program/option provided every day.
If you can afford either it's the shiz. Much better than the traditional run/lift/abs routine. Turbulence training/muscle confusion, etc. is the new world order. Try it.

I'm starting back at the gym next week...I quit smoking last January, started a gym in June, MIL died in July and I've been a boozer and a 2 month smoker since then...
Eating Steaks 4 times a week probably isn't helping

How do Crossfit and D1 compare? We don't have D1 in NWA. Just curious what the differences are.

What is the best home training routine? I'm not trying to train for any event, marathon, iron man, etc....., just want to improve my health & conditioning and burn some stress.
TIA!!!!

Yes, very good.
Yeah, plyometrics are pretty rough, it was the last of the routines I got through completely.
As I said, I have completed it twice. I'm now doing it again but I've added a few things and modified a little just to keep it interesting.
I didn't follow the diet plan, I'm a pretty thin guy with a high metabolism so I take in a lot of calories while doing P90X, a lot more than the diet plan calls for (any of them).

While the Hogs put forth no effort tonight on the hardwood, I completed my abs, chest, and tris workout. 9/9 on the year, already seeing results.

Weighed in this morning, down to 259 lbs.
I was 263.2lbs on New Year's Eve. Just losing it by changing diet a little. Salad at lunch instead of cheeseburger or chicken fried steak.
Still looking for a workout program. Maybe I'll start Insanity again.

this is almost exactly where I am at right now. just at 230 Trying to muster up the motivation to get back working out.
I'll do Insanity if you do it. haha
to insanity folks: after multiple rounds do you guys keep doing the fit test at the beginning?
I really really hate the fit test. not because I can't do the moves or whatever, it just seems likea wasted day.

quote:It depends, there's no single routine that is best for every person. A lot of it depends on what kind of equipment you have at home. If you have a rack, bench, barbell, and lots of weights, the 'best' routine you can do will be a lot different than if you just have a bench, dumbbells up to 45 lbs, and a pullup bar like I do.

Personally, I think the 'best' routine is whatever you can do that will let you:
1) make incremental progress on a regular basis
2) hold your interest and challenge you enough to be fun, and something you'll actually do regularly
3) flexible enough that you can change things up from time to time, partly to keep your body guessing and partly to not become too routine or boring
Personally, I like to have a core set of exercises that I'll do every week so I can track my progress, set goals, set personal records, etc. I have secondary exercises that I use to work on whatever I feel like. I can do these regularly for a month or two, but if I feel like doing something else, I can. These lets me have a little fun and keeps things from getting boring.
The absolute most important thing is to work out regularly. You don't even necessarily have to have a 'routine', but it does really help to have at least a core of exercises that you do regularly so you have a benchmark for your progress and accomplishments.

Nope, I hated it too. I quit doing it after the first round, and just subbed another workout on those days.
Starting to finally lose some of the water weight I gained over the holidays. Now time to get going on some of the real weight I gained over the holidays!
I never thought I'd be one of those people who likes working out, but I feel sooooo much better now that I'm back into the routine. Actually I hate working out, I just like AFTER I work out!
This morning was Cardio Power and Resistance - I loathe that DVD.
ETA: Just came across this article on the risks of sedentary jobs. I really need to get up an move more during the day. Workouts can't undo damage from sitting all day.

What makes you say it's water weight? To me, losing water weight means dehydrating, which isn't desirable.
Posted on 1/10/13 at 8:59 am to Ray Penpillage
Because I lost 3 pounds in 2 days - it's just not possible for me to burn that many calories.
My sodium intake was sky high, so I was retaining lots of water. I've brought my sodium back down, so I'm losing the excess water. I drink nothing but water all day, so I'm not at risk for dehydration.
