As an LSU fanatic, I hate the other SEC teams. I am not rooting for any non-LSU SEC teams. I suspect fans of other SEC teams feel the same way about their team, and SEC opponents. I don't, per se, give a shite about the national reputation of the SEC. What I DO know, however, is, that despite the advantage Alabama gets from the Birmingham-based SEC office (scheduling, officiating), all SEC teams benefit from the level of competition in the league, and from the shared reputation of the league. Most reasonable SEC fans, including Alabama's, would begrudgingly admit that LSU helped all of them by winning a NC w/ two losses. Playing at this level of SEC competition week in and out (something that the Clemsons and Louisville's don't face) forges champions. So, I am a "fan" of the SEC to the extent that it benefits my team. True, the SEC eats its own, which means that one champion will be forged from the carnage, and the rest of the teams lick their wounds and have to suffer playing against teams like Clemson, and Louisville, who are on crusades to "prove" the SEC is overrated.

I pull for every SEC team in post-season play. I always have and always will pull for members of the best conference in the country. The strengh, power, and public perception of the SEC is important to the continued success of the SEC members. The media attention from the nation is important as well. The best high school athletes in the country are drawn to our conference. The best want to play against the best - they want the exposure that this conference brings - they want the SEC swagger - the want the SEC confidence - they want the SEC hardware.

Doesn't mean we don't pull for the SEC still.

Link?

Or just unsubstantiated excuses because well, that's what your fanbase is great at

if you'd like I can bump the thread that compares our conference opponents over the last 3 years, and then bump the thread that shows Alabama was more penalized than their oppenent in around 80% of their games. Whatever helps you sleep at night chief
