Going by point spread, I believe it is. UF was 14 point faves...next closest I think it Utah over Bama (10 point fav)

Before you say it, Boise was only a 7 point dog to OU

If UF was favored by 14, they failed to cover the spread by 24. Alabama also failed to cover the spread by 24. So they're probably about equal.

Doesnt really work like that. The bigger the initial point spread is what matters. 14 > 10...if favorite loses they lose.

You can just go look up the point spreads and find out if that's all you're interested in.

It's either this game or the 2007 Fiesta Bowl though. I give the edge to 07 because of the aftermath of the win; Boise State singlehandedly paved the way for the inclusion of a non-BCS conference school in every subsequent BCS bowl season except in the 2012 circuit. Louisville is just bringing a little respect with it to the ACC by comparison.

Well, I mean more in terms of how the game looks. In either case it was shocking to see both teams so thoroughly dominated.

But Utah was undefeated and highly ranked, whereas Louisville had been blown out by the Cuse and lost to UConn. So I guess the edge goes to Louisville.

UL had a hard time against FIU this year too.

And a dreadful Southern Miss team.

Utah's margin was 14 and that was about right, there weren't any blown scores or garbage time points.

Louisville's margin was 10 and it really should have been 21+

Yeah, in a pick'ems group I'm in, out of 89 people, 0 picked UL (including 2 UL fans)

UL also beat UNC, FIU, USM and USF by 1 score

One of the other things is that Alabama really didn't struggle in 2008 except against Florida in the title game and LSU in the regular season. Everyone else they handled pretty thoroughly.

Florida, on the other hand, had a hell of a time with BGSU, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Missouri, so I dunno.

Boise State - OU was far more noteworthy. That statue of liberty play will live in infamy.

People will always remember that because it was a close game with a lot of trickery, but in terms of point spread only half as bad as this game.

Beat Kentucky 17-14 and Ole Miss 24-20.

And lets be honest, the 2008 Utah team is much better than this year's Louisville team.
