As an aside, it is customary to leave pennies at the foot of the General Lawrence Sullivan Ross statue for good luck before a test or final exam.

I'm unsure whether a Confederate general would take any delight in having the image of Abe Lincoln being spread around the feet of his statue. By the time I graduated, I must have left at least $20 bucks worth of Lincolns on top of ol' Sully.
