What's a typical offseason like attrition-wise for SEC teams?

I don't really follow close enough to know. From afar, it always seems like SEC teams sign full classes or oversign a lot and still make the numbers work out obviously.

Would a number around 15 be considered really high or pretty average? We're expecting to sign 25-27 guys with only 11 Seniors leaving, so I'm curious how that stacks up.

ETA: If this fits better on the recruiting board, move it there.

Well on top level SEC teams, you usually have seniors AND numerous juniors leaving. The juniors are obviously key players. Full classes or close to it is the norm.

There are often 2-3 guys who leave for whatever reason, 2-3 medical hardships, and 3-4 guys who go pro so about 7-10 leave every year.

A top notch SEC team will sign high profile players, and some of them just don't measure up. They're used to the attention, so they're not gonna ride the pine for 4 years. They'll transfer to someplace where they'll be BMOC again. It's brutal football too, so some won't be able to play again because of injuries. Some are used to doing as they please and refuse any sort of conforming to what's required, they'll leave one way or another. Some are so good, they'll leave for Pro money. Some got little or no PT and they Graduate in 4 years and choose to leave. Which usually means you'll sign a full class. In the years you don't, you probably have a pretty stacked roster and can expect good teams.

Here's one constant: A redshirt senior who is not in the two-deep is almost always gone. The school has already honored its scholarship agreement to that athlete.
