Just for fun, who would win? Some people say the 2004 team would demolish the 2010 team and others say no.

I would say the 2004 team would win but the 2010 team had Cam so him alone would make trouble for our defense in 2004. Even though that 2004 team was freaking loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.

I'm thinking the same thing.

That 2004 defense was something serious

Yeah, but the 2010 O didn't have a weakness. And our rushing D was fantastic.

2004 Junior Rosegreen would have knocked cam out, well maybe not, but still 2004 was my favorite team.

I had season tickets that year.

I'll give to edge to 2004 Auburn.

2004 had the much better defense, in every phase of the game. And even though 2010 had Cam Newton, 2004 had Ronnie Brown and Caddie Williams. Plus more surrounding talent that doesn't get talked about (Ben Obamanu, Devin Aromashodu, Cooper Wallace, Silas Daniels, Carl Stewart, etc).

Jason Campbell wasn't too shabby either

2004 wins by 10.

That defense was a top 10 defense in all of college football since 2000. Only allowed 11.2 points per game.

To compare, 2010 averaged giving up 24.5 ppg.

2010's Chizik defense was a joke.

I'd give the advantage in offense to 2010 Auburn by a good bit, though.

True story.

He wasn't anything special until 2004, but he really turned it on at the right time.

2004 had more talent but I think it would be a really good game.

I just noticed this would be Chizik vs. Chizik. Tubbs must have had his hands all over the defense. I'm wondering if Chizik did anything in 2004.

Honestly, does anyone else think that Chizik just so happened to be at the right place and the right time with Auburn and Texas? Auburn was loaded with talent in 2003 and 2004, and the same with Texas in 2005 and 2006. Maybe he just benefited from situations that put him in an easy position to succeed.

2004 all day. Cam and Fairly would be the only deference makers. The d would shut dyer/mccaleb down.

TT that's a definite possibity but I just think he is a bad HC.

The best player (IMO) on the 2004 team hasn't been mentioned. Carlos Rogers was a beast!
