People too young to remember the SEC in the 90s need not answer.

Spurrier in the 1990s at Florida

or

Saban in the 2010s at Alabama.

I say Spurrier. I know many LSU fans may disagree, but just think back and remember.

Spurrier by such a large margin it wouldn't even warrant a competition to decide.

I am a younger fan that was born in the 90's, but I had season tickets and watched games my entire life. I would say Bama for me at least. The main reason is, being honest LSU football was dreadful. I remember being 8 and thinking the Peach Bowl was an amazing bowl game. LSU was so bad in the 90's losing was expected for the most part, so getting blown out became expected. Bama now, for the most part I feel like fans feel the Tigers match-up and aren't happy with losing the last 2 out of 2 (me included).

If you asked me when I was younger though I promise you I would be saying I hated Florida more.

This.

Spurrier used to kick LSU's arse. That's why 1997 is one of my favorite years.

I respect Saban and he's THE best coach of this millennium but those Florida teams in the 90's were something serious.

Spurrier wouldn't just beat people. He'd run up the score then make fun of the other team for not being able to stop it lol.

Saban is at least respectful in his comments towards all other teams.

Nope. I know a lot of Dawgs still do now, but many of us who used to hate him at UF actually kind of like him now at SCar. It's been a weird transformation.

Agreed. Saban treats his opponents with respect and I honestly don't really see why people hate him. Saban to me is the anti-Lane Kiffin. Spurrier its pretty easy to understand.

I think the reason is, for the most part, he doesn't have the ability to run up the score like he use to.

There's that but also while he's still a smartass he's not near as much as much of an arrogant jerk as he was.

He seems to have grown up and mellowed out a lot.

I still don't like spurrier. While he was at Florida, he would be up 55-0 in the fourth and still throw it 50 yards down the field. My favorite Spurrier memory is when Les went for the fake field goal with the over the shoulder toss to the kicker. Spurrier's face was priceless.

Because now he's more of a loveable loser. Not that he's really a loser, it's just that no one really fears his team's anymore. He hasn't really won anything since he's been at USCe.He's still a very good coach though, just harder to win there than at UF, maybe he will win big there before it's over with, who know's.

If his teams were as dominant now as they were in the 90's then everyone would still hate him.He hasn't changed much if any personality wise.
