That's similar to what I posted in the scheduling thread, but the permanent opponent piee has two flaws. First, on years where you're paired with the division of your permanent oponent, what do you do?

In those years, if the perm apponent is in the division you are paired with then you will play a team in the other 2 brackets that have the same situation. For example when LSU is paired with UF's division in my scenerio above, BAMA's Division plays TN's division. So, one year we play Bama while UF plays TN, then the next We play TN while BAMA plays UF.

Second, having a single "permanent opponent" defeats the puprpose of pairing divisions, which is that every team in the division pair plays the same schedule to get to the SECG.

There is no way to have the exact same schedule as everyone in your division. This at least puts 7/8 the same, and allows the BAMA/TN whiners to keep there perm.

VT and NCST could field good teams within 3 years. I like the VT add and I understand the NCST add even though I don't like it.

NC State last won the ACC in 1979. They have a small stadium, fan base, mediocre academics, and their BoR is controlled by UNC. Why exactly do you think they will ever be mildly competitive in the SEC?
