This is probably our best home nonconference game so I'd advise you guys to show up. Dayton is a good team and could possibly make the big dance. Our team has looked good but we just lost a heart breaker this past Saturday at Cincinnati to fall to 6-1. The game starts at 8 so show up and support the team. They also beat us last year so it's a good time to get revenge.

Any news on Engstrom?

We need to beat Dayton and VCU. Could probably get us ranked if we do since we should've beat Cincy.

We need to beat Dayton because it's at home. VCU isn't a must win, but a road win against a good top 50 RPI program would be extremely beneficial come selection Sunday.

If we win our next two games we will likely go into the Mizzou game with 1 loss. I like our chances with Dayton and the @VCU game will be tough, but I have faith in this team.

I think we can take them as long as they don't get the kind of wide open 3s they did last year. Holy shite it was driving me insane to watch that game. It was a fricking shootaround for them. Easily our worst defensive performance under Grant.

I agree. I hope our players put their whole focus into Dayton and don't come out flat because they lost Saturday. Then we have 10 days before the VCU game for guys to get healthy and refocused.

Easily one of the worst. They couldn't miss, but we had a lot to do with it. We were shell shocked. That went back to relying on a lot of freshman with no senior leadership. That's not the case this year. I think our guys have too good of chemistry to fold like that in any game.

Oh I agree. If they didn't fall apart after going down by 15 or whatever it was early in a hostile environment against a good team I'm not worried about that at all. These guys are a lot tougher than they were last year.

That's one of the reasons I wasn't even that pissed when the guy made the shot to beat us. I was glad we were actually in the game. That would have been a really huge win though

@CecilHurt
Alabama hoops: Grant says Carl Engstrom will be unavailable tomorrow. Still no results in on MRI.

@CecilHurt
Grant says Andrew Steele out too, may have possible sports hernia. Tide down to 8 scholarship players for Dayton, perhaps longer.

While we all enjoy a good Auburn meltdown, it needs to be tempered with the fact that our basketball team depthwise is up shite creek. If Carl has ligament damage, we are screwed. Moussa and Nick can't play all those minutes at the 5 and we'll have no one else to turn to. Steele being hurt sucks too, but he's the least talented of our guards. His leadership will be missed though.

Yep. But now it is injuries instead of suspensions.

I guess the good news is our guards are good, but when we face teams with more than one good big man....

I posted this on twitter but for any students on here that have the slightest bit of interest in basketball, tomorrow night would be the best game for you and your friends to go and support the team. Dayton is our best non conference home game so we may as well take advantage of that.
