UPDATE: 247Sports' Tim Matty has deleted the original Tweet cited below and has been backtracking like nobody's business. He obviously heard *something*, but it's interesting that he all of the sudden feels way less inclined to stand by it than he did but a few hours earlier

Tech guy said 'UVA & GT to join Monday' .... a couple of days ago. It was actually part of the post I deleted out of frustration.

There's also some GT & Syracuse speculation

Would it really be that big of an implosion. Plug L'Ville and UConn in the ACC and are they really losing that much. Football wise the conference is shite anyway and they still wouldn't lose their marquee programs in Miami, Clemson, FSU, and Va Tech. Although part of the conference will just look like the Big East now with BC, VT, L'Ville, Miami, UConn (who would be a logical replacement if UVA left), Pitt, 'Cuse.

Smart move for the Big 10; expanded TV coverage into 2 new states.

That's it. And if UVA goes w/ Tech, I pretty much guarantee VaTech to the SEC had been pre-arranged...

So I guess UNC & Duke & Wake end up w/
BC
Miami
Louisville
Syracuse
Pitt
Uconn
Cincy

UNC could prolly bolt to the B1G over Tech but I figure they are hanging w/ Duke

I wonder if they'd take the SEC call over NC state?

(purely speculation)

I thought the Virginia legislature was firm about Va. and Va. Tech staying in the same conference.

We'll find out Monday? I figure Va Tech eventually to the SEC has much to do with UVA's fate.

The Governor made UVA get VT into the ACC because it was an election year. UVA could leave VT behind. I was under the impression that UVA and UNC were aligned together, so we'll see how that goes.
