Strong and Smart were never "real" canidates. Strong didn't even get an interview. Looking to make a hire before Sunday, but no later than Wed. of next week.

And fwiw, Phil was I think Sports Editor of the plainsman back in the early 80's and usually has pretty good sources at AU.

ETA: It looks that both have averaged (10) wins per season through out their careers.

He did, He said he didn't want to get in the Auburn search but he is really good friends with the the search committiee and 1 other person that he wouldn't name. He spoke with them last night and they said Strong didn't even get an interview, Smart was never a canidate and Peterson and Patterson were both listening and could come down to whoever pulls the trigger first.

Does it even really matter? I know we would prefer him to be Christian but if he wins games I would be happy even if he was a scientologist.
