What was the worst game or season Shula ever had as coach at Bama?

I remember plenty of losses, but iirc, most of those losses were at least competitive. maybe a lucky turnover and bama would have won instead of losing.

It's a tie between the 2003 Georgia game and the 2003 LSU game. We lost to Georgia 37-23 (it was like 30-3 at the half) and we lost to LSU 27-3.

His worst game was a blowout win. He left Prothro in against Florida and was throwing the ball long after the starters should have been on the bench.

As Prothro accounted for about 40% of the offense, he destroyed all chances to finish out November.

The above poster hit the nail no the head.

Both the 2003 UGA and LSU games were no contests. Although we did get within 2 TDs of UGA late in that game we couldn't signal plays in to Avalos because both our QBs had dislocated shoulders.

He had the talent to win in 2005. No reason it turned out the way it did.

The Georgia game made me hate him. When he sent Croyle back in he lost me forever.

Can we all just laugh about the fact that we were once coached by MIKE SHULA?

Technically the 05 season, since all 10 wins were vacated.

Mike Shula's greatest moment as Bama coach was the 2005 Cotton Bowl. Alabama completely shut down Mike Leach's Tex.Tech team (the highest scoring team in the nation) and won 13-10. Bama fans owe a debt of gratitude to what Shula did for Bama. The stench over their program, created by the thugs that preceded him, was still strong and he took the job anyway. I admire him for that.

The worst loss of Shula era. Without doubt. I was there. Bama was down 27-0 very late in game and Shula kicked a FG from inside the ten just to keep from being shutout. Scoreboard said three points, but LSU dominated that Shula coached team that day.

It wouldn't have mattered. You could have signaled in the Anexation of Puerto Rico to Avalos and he would have still fricked it up.

I think Shula pussied himself out of beating a top ten Tennessee team in 2006.

4th and goal at the foot yard line as a heavy underdog on the road and he kicks a freaking field goal. That alone cost them the game imo.

Wasn't that the same game where Bama gave up a first down on 3rd and 19 or some shite that would have won the game too?

fricking Joe Kines' defense.
