LSU fans hoping and praying vicariously through Auburn for an upset to send them to the SECCG b/c they couldn't get it done in their house, on Saturday night.

The irony here is great! Very much similar to Bama fans becoming Stanford/Baylor fans so Bama can possibly back into another big game?

Absolutely. What LSU fan or fan or any team would not pull for an upset that would allow their team to play for the conference championship and possibly a NC?

Yeah it's a bitch. Reminds one of last year when Ala was sitting pretty in 2d place in the West, 3rd in the SEC, and getting to rest up and scout LSU in the SECCG.

4 weeks rest/scouting compared to 5 weeks rest/scouting is a horrible, horrible argument and you should feel bad for even mentioning that.

For me, it wasn't the extra week of resting and scouting as much as it was the higher ranked team had to play another game to get to the NC while the lower ranked team sat at home and knew they would be in.
There is something seriously wrong with that, but it's how things shook out, and you can't say the system failed, because OSU was not one of the two best teams last year.

For me it was the rematch. It took everything we had to beat them once and it ended up not mattering. Oh well, 9-6, 21-0, 1-1, SECC vs. NC.
As to the topic of lucking into championship games, it happens all the time, for everyone. Unless you go 13-0, you need someone else to lose more than you. It's just how it works. Just because teams lose later in the year than your team doesn't make you lucky. It's just how the whole season shakes out.
