All of those rumors are coming out of Central Arkansas, and they are wrong in linking the job to Gruden. Schaap is being the patsy for someone.
Gundy/Patterson info both have more legs than Gruden.
Now why would some in Central Arkansas intentionally lay false rumors? Almost looks like they want o sabotage Long's search.

So reading this morning, and the concencus I get on Patterson is that people think he will have to be given time to learn on the job.
I'm also intrigued by this notion that the game is different in the SEC than every where else in the United States. Also, Petrino could have, and will, win the SEC and a MNC with is offense first and only approach, but Gundy doesn't stand a chance.
15 minutes of reading HV this morning increased my IQ 15 points, no doubt in my mind.

Gundy is petrino except he cares about the players and likes to recruit.

It's better and the lights are brighter but if you are a good coach then SEC resources usually just sky rocket your career. The reason teams down here are better is because no one is afraid to throw around some money on shite. The only thing slowing the facility wars is that it takes so long to build huge arse buildings.
