Remember When UT Was a SEC Power (and can they get back?)

It wasn't that long ago. I remember when these clowns cranked out NFL players on the reg.
I'm sure I'm omitting some beasts from the 90s and 2000s but IDGAF:
QBs - Casey Clausen, Shuler, Peyton, Brent Shayfa (i kid)
RBs - Travis Henry, Jammal Lewis
WRs and TEs - Stallworth, Nash, Joey Kent, Peerless Price (best name ever) K. Washington, Witten
OL - Cosey Coleman, Munoz, Clifton
DL- John Henderson, Darwin Walker, Haynesworth, Greg Little, Overstreet etc.
LBs - Al Wilson, Raynoch Thompson
DBs - Eric Berry, Deon Grant, whoever the CB that locked down Peter Warrick in the Championship game
Tennessee used to represent big-time SEC football and Saturday afternoon CBS games in Neyland were a common occurrence. College football is cyclical, but it seems like their program should be progressing forward by now.
UT is no longer recruiting at a national level. Lord Sabear, Muschamp, and Miles are recruiting beasts. UGA is still UGA. Chavis is gone. They've lost to KY.
The CFB landscape is different than it was during the Fulmer era, and the state of Tennessee isn't a great high school football state, so recruiting isn't the easiest. Can UT bounce back?

Yes, and no. Jumbos are in the East now. We will eat their children.

You forgot the best rb in the nfl right now.

The talent has been there the last couple of years, they've just had some bad luck with injuries, but ultimately when talent fails to thrive, that comes down to coaching. Dooley's not the man. They'll eventually find him, he's just not there right now.

You missed the part of the OP where IDGAF.
Foster as a NFL > College RB tho.

Tennessee benefited from some weak coaching in the 1990s. That also meant that they had an edge in recruiting.
The coaching in this generation of the SEC is much better and has kept Tennessee from winning the recruiting battles they used to win.

Yeah Foster is doing alot better with the Texans than he was at UT. They were always trying to get someone better when he was at UT.

Not really. They have good WR's and QB. But at RB and on defense they're definitely bottom half of the league talent wise.

That becomes irrelevant for a few months, starting tomorrow.
