I have switched my Crystal Ball pick on Van Jefferson from Ohio State to Tennessee.

Two different sources with knowledge of Jefferson's recruitment have indicated that Tennessee is in very good shape in this one. One source thinks that Tennessee would get Jefferson if his recruitment ended today, another source tells me that he thinks Tennessee and Georgia are the favorites right now and it is a toss-up.

Jefferson hails from Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood and he is the No. 9 wide receiver in the country according to 247Sports. His final decision is expected to come in late July.

Between this and what Buck said after Jefferson's visit, I think this guy has now earned Vol lock status.

Josh Sweat ran a 4.46 at the opening. What a freak athlete.

I saw that, major coup for who ever grabs him.

Wingspan was unreal, and 11 inch hands?

Is this real life?

No kidding.

I'm eagerly awaiting for Kahlil Mckenzie to announce at the opening for us tomorrow. Do you guys have any prospects expected to make an announcement?

Excerpt from the opening on Preston Williams

quote:

- The best size/speed combo went to Hampton, GA five-star wide receiver Preston Williams. The Tennessee commit stands at 6-foot-4 and 191-pounds. He ran great routes today and was a step faster than almost any defensive back that lined up over him.

@SBNRecruiting: Through two days, if I could sign any non-qb from @TheOpening2014, it would be Kahlil Mckenzie. That much body shouldn't move like that.

McKenzie is gonna be such a monster for us. I cannot wait.

Preston Williams and Van Jefferson have both looked great so far at the Opening as well.

Buck has been dropping bombs about Jefferson on VQ today and he just posted that Van's dad will not allow him to go to tOSU even if he wanted to.

No, but July is usually very, very nice to us. We average 4 commits during July and hopefully we'll get some big names at Dawgday.

"In completely unrelated news, I just made a Crystal Ball pick for Tuttle to pick Tennessee, too. It's just a guess at this point, but I've started to hear that Tuttle might be getting relatively close to making a decision — maybe sometime in the next few weeks — and the Vols seem to have some momentum. I don't think it's anywhere close to a done deal at this point, but I've heard enough to go ahead and put in my pick for UT."

From a poster on 247

quote:

Jason Swain on TSR just said that Tuttle has moved up his commitment date and that, according to his sources, that Tennessee is in a "Veeeerrrry good position".
