From the state of Tennessee, Hendrix quickly fell in love with the Vols program when he visited for a junior day back in February. He left Knoxville with a scholarship and the beginning of what’s become a great relationship. He returned in April, and Hendrix says he plans to be back the weekend of Oct. 4 for the Georgia game. Not knowing that was the same weekend he had planned to take an official to Florida, Hendrix says he’ll most likely be at Tennessee instead of in Gainesville.
“Just the relationship I have with Butch Jones,” Hendrix started in. “I don’t have that relationship with any head coach of all the schools that offered me. That’s big.
“Coach (Steve) Stripling and everything is great. Another thing that stands out to me is they had an open practice and 39,000 people came to it. I just think that’s amazing. The tradition down there is like no other.”
“I’m just here to take the ride with him and give him advice when needed,” Denise said. “Tennessee is our home state, we do love Tennessee, but ultimately it’s his decision.”

Tbh I don't really know. I guess because it's one of the closest SEC schools in proximity to VA with a rich football tradition. We've pulled some guys out of VA in the past, that's where Jerod Mayo is from.

That place is a hotbed for recruits. It seems like you guys recruit there as well aa UGA does in NC.

UT would get guys from NC all the time when Fulmer was HC. Hardesty was one off the top of my head. They're trying to get back in there in the 2015 class. Darian Roseboro is one we're going after pretty hard.
