Auburn source speaks

One of my customers told me the following today, before Chizik's presser. This guy is an Auburn booster who holds 16 seats and has been grandfathered in that he did not lose his seating when Auburn made changes years ago. They are supposedly his grandfather's tickets, originally. He parks at the stadium for $4500 per year. He is not a happy camper.

What he said:
Trustee McCrary wants Chizik gone now and Petrino hired. They are only $900,000 away from the $7.5 million so what's a measley $900,000? Problem is that Petrino will divide the fanbase temporarily.
Said VanGorder would stay as would Martinez.

Trustee Jimmy Rane (Yellow Guy) is pissed an wants Chizik Fired and Jimbo Fisher hired. Problem is the adding of Jimbo's buyout to Chizik's.

I said: "No way Jimbo leaves FSU". He said Jimbo was unhappy at FSU and HE contacted auburn through back channels. Jimbo wants to get his family back to Alabama. My guy said he knows Jimbo's wife personally and she's not happy.

He said Chizik would be fired this week. So it won't be too long to wait to see if this guy is blowing smoke or not.

Another nugget he dropped was that, earlier, Chizik had contacted Mack Brown and asked how to get rid of a rogue coach (recruiting). Supposedly Brown said he had two choices: Let him go asap and take your chances or just hang on and ride it out. My source said two coaches were not allowed off campus on recruiting. "An NCAA issue".Apparently Chizik chose to "ride it out".

Like I said, this guy is a big Auburn guy and has been a season ticketholder forever. We got to talking about Auburn's issues and this came out, unsolicited. We'll see how it turns out.
