Nothing new...

Mostly saying Gogue has three choices, fire him now, fire him at the end of the season or retain him for next year.... Goes on to say that no-one believes that Chizik will be back except some people close to Chizik swear CHIZIK fully expects to be back next season....

VOTE: Fire him Now.....Fire him in December.... Keep Him....

I will start (Fire him NOW as in TODAY)

Fire him now. We all know no this ends

If I was a player/recruit I would want to know who my coach will be. And as a fan, firing chizik/Jacobs is the only thing I can get excited for anymore

Fire his arse today

Fire him in December. Save a bit of cash and bring in someone else (not BMFP).

Fire him now, let BVG be the interim, and hire BMFP. Let Petrino get started on his staff and saving the recruiting class.

Not sure he really has but 1 choice.

I think the pressure will be too great not to fire CGC. And I don't see the logic in firing him now. If the school intends to do a full search (and I think they do) they will interview several individuals and this can not be done until after the season.

Chiz will get until the week after the iron bowl. He will be let go once the buyout drops below some "critical value" and we will begin a new search.

I do not think the university will hire BP because of his history with the school and his recent issues. Thus, most of our top coaching picks will not be available until December/Jan anyways - no reason to rush.

Why? If anything that is as good of reason as any to fire him? What if the impossible happens and he beats bama? I expect you'd see a massive uptick in folks saying "keep gene." Then what happens, becuase i'll be damned if i think a miracle win over bama some how puts a fix to the problem we have down there, but would he be retained, chances are a lot better at that point. (unfortunately there is a 0% chance he wins that game)

I see no benefit in having a lame duck coach around that the players won't play for.

I'm not crunching numbers but i assume it'd be an extra 200k if we do it nov 1 instead of dec. 1. Well i'm sure as shite not buying another ticket/drink/hotdog at the stadium this year. Not sure how many folks feel the same or if that comes out to 200k, but it wouldn't surprise me. And yes i would go down there for Ala. A&M and UGA (and hell New Mexico State) if he was fired and there were an interim, mainly just to see what those kids coudl do without a hapless fool at the helm.

I am a little on the fence on this one. I don't like firing someone in the middle of the season, it just looks bad imho. However, this season is such a ginormous cluster frick at this point, I don't know that it really matters now.

What will probably happen is he will be let go after the AU/Bama game, hopefully with someone already committed to be the new coach.

I don't disagree with that but you know what else looks bad, A&M putting up almost half a mile of offense against us.

Buyout drops each month. So, IMO, he will either be fired Thurs/Fri or 1st of Dec after the season ends.

My vote is end of this week or 1st of Dec, depending on how it will affect the current recruiting class. If we are gonna go Petrino and he can start working to keep the class together, why wait, do it the end of this week.

If we do not know WTF we are going to do and do not have a real plan yet, might as well wait until we do.

I feel like this. The Admin does not have a plan yet. First they have to get rid of JJ, because I dont think JJ fires Chiz for some reason. I dont believe AU will hire Petrino. I wouldnt mind if they did though, proven winner and can get AU to win.

Only problem I have with us waiting is that in the musical chairs of coaches, I don't want to be left with a second-tier coach or settle for someone.

if they haven't already reached out to BMFP they better do so and let him know we got his spot locked down, so hang tight.

i'm in agreement that kids aren't going to play for a lame duck coach and if a new coach is brought in it at least gives them motivation for showing off for next year and we can at least try to salvage the recruits that are currently committed/on the fence and give them an idea of where we're headed.

Totally agree. Best case scenario is Chiz is let go end of week and BMFP is locked down IMO.

But that doesn't mean it will happen. And if it is not Petrino, it better be a damn strong hire and it better already be in the works when we let Chiz go.

None of this search committee BS in December to figure out who we want and start interviewing people.

Most people dont want that including me, but I have a feeling this is the way it will go. Hope I am wrong.
