First of all,Congrats on a big win. It was a great game in a great SEC environment. I now know why your stadium is the real death (deaf) valley.
This was my first trip to LSU and I had heard many different stories about the fans, both good and bad. Now I know that every story I heard was true. Anyone who has been there can agree or disagree. LSU has some of the best and worst fans in the world. When we arrived to set up our tailgate we had several classy LSU fans come over and welcome us and offer us to tailgate with them. In fact we had a nice 3 generation group that hung out at our tailgate all day. We cooked out and watched TV and talked and had a great time before and after the game. Thanks to you for the great hospitality.
The walk to the stadium was a little different however. Don't get me wrong, the little tiger bait remarks in passing didn't bother me a bit and the little kids doing it was kinda cute. But the group that tries to surround you and point right in your face and talk shite other than just tiger bait is asking for trouble and not funny or classy. I understand some fans are just pricks so I tried my best to ignore them. I know they were being a holes because several other LSU fans apologized for them after that. There were even fans after the game that said they hoped nobody treated us too bad.
For the most part I enjoyed the trip and had a great time and met some classy fans. It is just a shame that a few people have to be asses to the point that the good fans have to apologize for them.I was just wondering is this the normal experience for the visiting fan?

I agree with you. We have some really shitty fans. I always try to treat the opposing fan base well...unless they're gumps

Don't let the sidewalk t-shirt fans get to you, brah. They're the ones who smell like corndogs.

I'm glad you had a good time! Forgive our rude fans. Overall our fan base is great!
I think the Gamecocks are getting closer to being a bigtime CF program. However, ya'll are not there yet and not ready for primetime to beat a team like LSU. I do think ya'll will get there eventually. Good luck the rest of the season

Yea tiger fans were great when I got there, tailgated with several, they gave me free beer. A dew tigerbaits but I expected that. When the game started me and some lsu fans were having friendly smack talk. But as soon as LSU scores their last TD one of there fans chunked a drink at me and I got soaked, not to mention the entire student section were all pointing at me and trying to start shite( I was close to the student seating section 215) Also just noticed my car got keyed today. LSU Fans make Clemson fans seem like angels

Also had to drive all the way back to my hotel in Hammond just to change clothes so I could hit up some bars in Baton Rouge

I would also like to apologize for the Carolina fans that were chanting when the LSU band started playing the National Anthem. That was a drunk group that started it that really wasn't paying attention to what was going on. That's no excuse and I am not defending them at all. I am prior military so it pissed me off too. And for the record none of the other Carolina fans liked it either and told them to shut up. That is not representative of the Carolina fanbase and for that I apologize.
By the way. Make no mistake. You have the real Death Valley. Great atmosphere and home field advantage.

That blows. That's a long drive. I can't imagine you had much time to go out since bars close at 2.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. I apologize about the trashy fans. I hope the good fans that you met kinda helped make up for the bad ones.
I hope it didn't ruin your experience at LSU though. I have encountered those type of fans at every stadium that I have ever been to. It sucks that the handful of bad fans are the ones that leave the biggest impression in visitors minds.
I hope you come back to Baton Rouge next time we play y'all.

You are lucky it was only keyed, I had my tires flattened and keyed while there. Of course we won at the time so they probably weren't too happy. Now I park at my uncle's house with car backed in so no one can see my Bama license plate.
