In retrospect, was Houston Nutt that bad?

He was Les Miles, but without the championships...

He did take Arky to 2 SEC title games. 2 more than Bobby

Give Bobby that backfield in the 2006/07 SEC and we win championships, not lose second tier bowl games.

Yes, Houston was that bad. Don't believe me, ask Ole Miss.

No he wasn't. Beat national champion LSU on the road in 07 and did the same to us in 08.

Ask deltaland, jonathon henderson, grew up arkansas fan, now he's the biggest grinder in the state.

maybe it's just that hard to win at Arkansas.

We should have never fired Nutt.

2 west titles with 6 more seasons and Bama in the crapper. He would have been below. 500 in the SEC the last 4 years.

Nutt has streaks of laziness. He has a magical season and then he lays an egg because he thinks he's done his part in making a team successful, then the seat gets hot and he pulls out another miracle. At Ole miss, he had no emotional ties to our school like he did with Arkansas and apathy and laziness and contentment of salary finally 86'ed his coaching days in the SEC. Nutt was a decent coach and a remarkably lazy man.

If he has someone to recruit talent for him then he's a damn good coach, without talent you get what he did at Ole Miss last season.

Seriously, just no. Nutt was 75-48 at Arkansas, 60%, while Miles is 78-18 so far at LSU, 81%. Either you badly overestimate Nutt or badly underestimate Miles.

This explains it the best.

My implication was a somewhat kooky coach with a good running game and a bad passing game.
LSU has enough talent/great defense that you still win championships. Nutt/Arkansas didn't.
Hell, half your fanbase wants to fire Miles when you're winning! Take away the wins, and you have the Arkansas fanbase under Nutt!
