Question for Auburn / UT Fans

As a Gamecock fan, we have never sniffed the kind of success of your programs. Question is mostly for Auburn, but I imagine UT can relate as well.
How much was your National Championship worth? Does it make not being good now easier?
I remember thinking before we won our first CWS, "if we just win this, I don't care if we never win another game". Then when we found ourselves in the same position the following year, I wanted it just as bad. (Not trying to equate BCS championship to CWS, but baseball is really big around here)
Basically, Barn fans, would you take your national championship followed by 10+ years of mediocrity (or whatever you consider the current trend). Or would you rather be a decent team with maybe 2 SEC championship in the past decade, but still be on the up, similar to UGA.

1 SEC Championship in a decade seems like mediocrity to me.

Well I personally wouldn't trade the championship for anything...
But to answer the question the championship makes now feel worse...to Miami with Larry Coker-esque...

Agree, but I would argue that UGA is in much better shape than you guys now.

Hey man, we have 2!

I'll never forget the 1998 team and I was only 8 years old.
I'll take the single Natty.
I'll take the single Natty.

Hard to say because our title was completely bastardized by the media/Cam shite. The way that witch hunt was handled, truly took away a lot of the joy from that season.

Yes, but if you are asking if we'd rather win 1 MNC a decade and be shitty the other 9, or be consistent for a decade and only win 1 SECC, I'll take the MNC every time. '10 was a lot of fun.

Depends how much longer we're losing.
but nothing compares to winning a title so i'll take that every time.

Oh, the cute answers you will get for this.

Yeah, maybe I didn't word the question correctly. Basically, would you trade your program 2000-present for UGA right now, but you have to give up your title as well?

It really did. As exciting as it was to be in that position, it was always in the back of my mind...what if it is taken away...but it wasn't so it is all good.

It's worth happiness from the moment the season starts until the first loss the next season. Once you win one, you taste blood and want it every year. It makes losing worse. Now, UTs championship was a loooong time ago, so losing has been easier to stomach only b/c it's been happening more, not b/c of a 14 year old NC.

No, I would not trade the MNC to be UGA the last 12 years. That is part of the reason half the fanbase wants Richt gone.

My first question is...How old are you? 21? 19?
If you want a serious response, you might want to re-address your audience. As for you reasoning, Georgia hasn't won anything worth bringing up in an argument so no need for the comparison. Yes some people say what they have accomplished far exceeds anything we did, but again they don't have a crystal ball to show for it. We won't be mediocre for 10 years. Tuberville had us on a pretty good track after 1999. We were in the SECCG in 2000.

28.
I am not arguing that AU has had success in the recent past, to a greater degree than UGA. I'm talking about today...how much is the past worth?

Are you asking if we would pay for a player and risk our entire program for one NC with an asterisk next to it because everyone in the country knew we cheated to get it? Not sure, ask Auburn.
I did.
