He also fails to mention that LSU throttled his beloved Oregon Ducks last year on a neutral site.....but hey, he is creating controversy to get noticed. Mission accomplished.

The record is clear. In head-to-head match-ups against other major conferences, the SEC has either a combined losing record or one that's generally only a little better than even.
This part of the article made me laugh. He is so butthurt mad. Its so "clear"

Not sure which game the author was attending, but AJ was 16/28 for 199 yards in the November meeting.

That's not true about 2007. LSU was No. 2 to start the year behind USC.
Auburn 2010 was in the 20s though.

you cant take the best of the PAC - 10 vs middle of the road SEC as a test of which conference is better. thats just a terrible test of conference strength.
It really doesn't matter so much anymore, since the BCS is doomed to history, but the reason I think that the SEC has done so well in that period is by playing one less conference game than the PAC, and substituting it with a CUSA/SunBelt or FCS opponent. It basically guarantees everyone in the conference one less loss, unless you really screw it up (UAB, ULM and almost Troy.)
The SEC gamed the system well. When playoffs are implemented, the SEC will be forced to add that 9th conference game or risk losing out on playoffs due to SoS.

They were both 6-6 teams. How in the hell do you get Big Ten #3 out of that one?
NEVER.
No other league is asked to consistently play up in Bowl Games like that.
e.g., Gator is Big10 4/5 vs SEC 6.
So, let's theoretically reverse it.
What do you think the result of SEC 4/5 vs Big10 6 would be . . . . >90% of the time?
Without understanding the superiority of the SEC at present, one would presume 6 to 7 losses out of the list of 8 non-BCS bowl games the SEC plays in

BOWL Match-ups
BBVA Compass SEC No. 8/9 vs. Big East No. 5/C-USA
Cotton Big 12 No. 2 vs. SEC
Outback Big Ten No. 3 vs. SEC
Gator Big Ten No. 4/5 vs. SEC No. 6
Capital One Big Ten No. 2 vs. SEC No. 2
Chick-fil-A ACC No. 2 vs. SEC No. 5
Liberty C-USA No. 1 vs. SEC No. 8/9
Independence SEC No. 10 vs. ACC No. 7

When you strip away all the emotion, and God knows there is a lot of it from the constantly berated Southerners to the rest of the nation who is sick of the SEC hype on ESPN:
The one indisputable point is that in each of BCS championship games since 2005 until last year, the SEC's best defeated the team considered to be the rest of the nation's best...and it usually hasn't been that close. Last year is an exception, and understandably fuels the fire of people who feel the SEC gets too much credit, HOWEVER - nobody in the country doubted LSU's resume going into that final game. Nobody said, nor could say, that LSU had not proven themselves to be deserving both in AND out of conference. So if LSU was a proven BCS participant, then Alabama proved themselves by beating them (not to mention the crushing of Penn State).
I am willing to listen all day long about the favoritism of ESPN, and preferential treatment by the media. Frankly, I accept those arguments. But you can't then leap from the premise that the SEC gets favorable treatment to the ASSUMPTION that they are not deserving of the claim to be the best, by refusing to acknowledge the results on the field.

You know what the SEC is getting favored treatment unitl the big 10 or anyother knocks the SEC off the mountain they will. We watched the Big 10 and Norte Dame rule college football for years for now it's the SEC. The media blow hards conviently forget that.

I have to agree. Growing up watching the national sports media hang on the nuts of the Midwest, it's hard to feel too much sympathy for them as the SEC gets the spotlight.

The SEC gamed the system well.
So, you're saying that SEC teams really weren't as good as their records and got into BCS bowls when they didn't deserve to, but wouldn't that make it likely that they'd fare poorly once they got into those games they didn't deserve? Yet, the SEC has the best record in BCS bowls of any AQ conference. This doesn't seem contradictory to you?

What's even funnier now is to hear Big Ten/Pac 12 fans lament the favorable treatment the SEC supposedly gets from the NCAA now too. These are 2 conferences (ESPECIALLY the Big Ten along with Notre Dame) that have benefitted from a good ole boy sacred cow status with the NCAA for decades. Now that it appears the SEC is receiving the benefit of the doubt and Big Ten schools are actually having to answer for their cheating instead of being given a complete free pass on it (Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan) they know where SEC fans have been coming from for the last 50+ years.
