Hell, this is a win-win situation for Alabama and Fluker. Fluker is getting on the inside for the NFL draft. The suspension guarantees he will not get injured in those 4 games, and he will be better rested for the rest of the season. His back up will gain valuable experience.
If I were Alabama, I would suspend many more players.
