Auburn fans, what is DeAngelo Benton's status? I was a big fan of this kid coming out of high school and was expecting him to be a good WR, but injuries have seem to plagued him. Just curious to know what his playing time could look like and what kind of year do you think he will have? TIA

Average wide receiver probably won't do much.

I can see this thread getting really ugly for anyone who's been paying attention to these forums.

Im still waiting for the Reed kid to show up. When he was getting drafted I know folks on the Plains were expecting great things from him. I think he has been injured some tho.

Seems to always be at the wrong place at the wrong time... Wish he had never come to Auburn.

Still, maybe this is the year the lightbulb goes off, but I doubt it.

He's either been injured or we haven't had a qb capable of throwing to him.

Injuries, lack of QB, bad attitude. Huge bust.

I'd like to see Benton, Reed, and Bray step up this year.

It was very weird how Reuben Randle's father wouldn't let the two play together. LSU won on that one.

I have a feeling Reed will step up this year. People seem to forget he has only played one season for us so far.

Man thats disappointing. Guess the kid never grew up. Coming out of high school the kid was a specimen and had all the talent in the world, but i guess that only gets you so far. Thanks for everyones input.

I don't know that its necessarily that he never grew up. I think its possible his skills just never translated to the next level (or blame Troop's coaching).

I thought Benton was going to be a real player for Auburn. But in hindsight, seeing that he took two postgrad years to qualify, and knowing that he bailed on Hargrave mid-season, I guess I should've known not to expect too much from him. It's rare that people just flip a switch to being productive humans.

I still maintain that Trovon Reed would be a much better CB than WR, but I don't see that ever happening.

I was surprised to see how good Stallworth was, because he seemed sort of like an afterthought coming out of HS. I think he was Michael Ford's QB at Leesville.
