Serious question for LSU fan's Regarding Nick Saban

How do you really feel about Nick Saban?Do you hate him for the way he left?Do you love him for having a great run at LSU and winning a NC?If he wanted to come back to LSU someday would you accept him?
I know that I hate Dennis Franchione with a passion, but he left us for another college school, which is a little different from what Saban did in leaving LSU to go to the Dolphins, before coming to Alabama.
This is not meant to be a troll thread, just really was wanting to gauge the LSU fan's true feelings on how they feel about Nick Saban.

some LSU fans are still bitter, but I find him very very well respected by the vast majority of the LSU fanbase. He put LSU back on the map imo.

for going to the nfl? no. i always thought he was slightly perturbed at how his last game ended though. as a fan, my reaction to that game, while still hung over from NYE was something like ' ahhh shite i ain't even mad'

i appreciate all he did.

yeah this won't happen. but if miles had gone to michigan in 07 i would have loved it. would have loved to see the alabama reaction as well.

The most epic meltdown in the history of the world. Children and women would be beat to a pulp.

He's the best CFB coach right now and I'm forever grateful for his turning around the program.

He went to the NFL. That's what ambitious and competent CFB HC's do.

Of course.

No, for the same reason he would have left even if Dolphins job didn't come up. LSU requires a laid back coach that doesn't care about PsychoNation. Had Saban stayed he would have gotten an aneurysm due to exasperation.

Saban left for the NFL. Franchione said bye by throwing an adios letter out of an airplane window on the way to A&M. Good riddance to him.

Yeah it probably won't.In 07 I think that if LSU had offered if Miles would've left he may have came back there, he always talks about LSU with respect, you can tell he loved coaching there.

At the time, I, for one, felt kind of backstabbed. It was an emotional feeling at the time, especially with the way our last game against Iowa turned out in the Cap One Bowl. But in retrospect and after cooler heads prevailed, I don't blame him leaving Baton Rouge, LA for Miami, FL and college to pros. It's really a no brainer decision.

Absolutely. He is one of the reasons, if not he main reason, we are the program we are today. He brought us out of the Dinardo ashes and into a premiere team in the SEC and all of college football. Extremely thankful for the job he did while we was here.

Does a bear shite in the woods?

I feel like he is the best coach in the nation. It sucks he left us and ultimately is the head coach for a team in our conference and division, but that's just how the cookie crumbles. He is certainly a very traditional, hard-nosed football coach, different than the one LSU has today. I think failure isn't an option for him which will be the main reason why he will always be one of the best. The guy as a person and a father/husband, is a whole different story. But who really gives a shite about that, right? He's a football coach. Not the man in the chapel giving sermons on Sunday.

sure most lsu fans feel this way.

Thankful for what he did.
No problem with him going to the Dolphins.
No problem with him taking one of the other top 3 SEC jobs.
Hate him because he now coaches our arch-rival.
Our coach now can more than hold his own against him. Even record between the two.

CLM's emphasis on the D and the run game is a spitting image of Bo (UM). I'm not quite getting that. Or do you mean the 'eccentricities'?

when saban was coaching our defense, i felt indestructible and when he left I thought the defense would never be as good. Obviously thats not the case, we are better now than when saban was coaching us. I like miles more personally because he actually has a personality and actually has loyalty.
Saban doesn't give a frick about bama. He only cares about the money, which means bama football is all about the money. Bama is nothing more than a professional football team.

You're right. Didn't mean to say it in that way.
I wasn't speaking gameplan-wise. They both are traditional and same in that manner. I was speaking more in generalities as in Saban's demeanor and personality.

And I think anyone who knows college football would say that's why it's a pretty damn good match.
