Two teams, consecutive meetings as #1 and #2

If neither LSU nor Alabama slips up before November 3rd, it will likely be the third consecutive meeting between these two teams as the #1 and #2 teams in the country. Has any other pair of teams played three times in a row as #1 and #2?
And that's not even to mention doing it three times in the span of less than one calendar year.

If I had to guess, OU/NU but that possibly may have never happened before. Course a lot of games till 11/3 but that would be something.

USC will keep getting media love until they lose a couple games. They have a pretty easy schedule until November, so It might stay 1.) USC 2.) LSU 3.) Bama for a loooooooong time.

Alabama and Florida played in #1 vs #2 matchups in back to back years in 2008 and 2009. Not sure when the last time that happened prior to that.
