@OntheRadarHoops: Alabama was on hand to watch 2014 PF C.J. Thurman Morgan County (GA) yesterday as he finished with 20pts 12rebs in a win @cmagne30012

Are we still in it for Demetrius Henry? I haven't heard anything about him with us lately, but I've been looking for anything on him with any school and haven't gotten anything except that Texas recently offered him.
Anyways here's a [link=( https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=BFn-iVTUvEY&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DBFn-iVTUvEY )]highlight video [/link]I found on him. And guess what, guys, he has more than one move and can actually play defense.

I want to say he dropped us from his list

Not surprising. It's not like we can sell immediate playing time to anyone who can competently play a post position.

Hard to tell. Only major recruiting site that has us off his list is ESPN, but all of them have problems updating the lists. It actually is a tough sell despite our problems down low this year because we have two post commits for this class. Recruits are pretty narrow-minded.

@jerrymeyer247: Alabama continues search for a 2013 point guard. Called about 3-star Cornelius Elder yesterday. Offered 3-star Jonathan Severe recently.
We're desperate.
We're desperate.

The only thing that scares me about Elder is his ESPN scouting report is almost identical to the one Ben Eblen had. Other than that the video I have seen on him looks pretty good, but all I have seen is highlights. And maybe I haven't seen Severe at his best, but he doesn't look D1 to me in the videos I have seen.

I'm not sure Eblen's game was capable of producing highlights, sooooo....

Almost sounds like they know one or both of Releford and Lacey would rather go play in Europe than spend another year in our craptastic offense, because with them and Retin all coming back next year there would be no need to settle on a PG in this class.

I really think that's a possibility

why are we hating on Eblen? Sure he was meh at best on offense but he's one of the reasons we had a terrorizing defense and personally responsible for the upset of Kentucky if I remember right.

He frickin sucked. Couldn't dribble. Wasn't worthy of a scholarship. I guess being occasionally effective on defense for a couple minutes was his one redeeming quality.

Dan McDonald is raving about Coleman so now I'm sold on him.

It's really the only reason I can think of that we would settle on a kid who is a pure PG like Elder. Severe is more of a combo type, so I can see that, but if we take Elder there is very little doubt in my mind that one of those guys won't be with the program next year.
ETA: Especially with a better player (IMO) like Coleman in the 2014 class.

We were after Elder before the season started so unless they were set on leaving before this season, I really doubt this has anything to do with one of them leaving. Not saying it wont happen, but only new 2013 target mentioned since the season kicked off is Severe.

Coleman is our must land player in 2014. He could be the saviour of Grant's offense, if he is still around. We have lacked a set up man in Grant's tenure, and with the assists Coleman keeps putting up, he might be the perfect guy for the job. I love Releford, but he doesn't know how to set any one up unless its for an alley oop. Its pretty bad when our best current setup man is a kid who scored 35 pts a game in HS and has been used to junking up shots his entire bball career until now. Our offense is shite, but a setup PG like Coleman can make even our offense look somewhat competant.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Elder isn't a bad player. I think his ranking has more to do with him being 4 star RB so many basketball services haven't paid much attention to him. I don't think this guy is anything like Eblen. I'd take him. Eblen was never the MVP of Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions and Walter Prather Memorial in the same Spring/Summer period. Elder's team won both tournaments and he was named the MVP.

There's a Severe update on 247 if someone can post it.
