If Grant wants numbers, why not offer DeRunnya Wilson of Wenonah? Kid has been killing it so far this season, especially on the boards which is where we need the most help.

He's been compared to Jae Crowder. I would love taking a chance on him.

Offer him at what? He 6'6 and is a post player.

Warrior

Warrior I think a thick 6'6 kid can be successful in the post if he's a warrior. We don't have a guy like that.
No kidding. Hines was like 6'8" in shoes but he was a banger and went after every rebound or loose ball he could get his hands on.
Jae Crowder and Chuck Hayes are both 6'6" guys who did very well in the post during their college years. Rebounding is more about positioning and desire than height.
ETA: Not to mention the Round Mound of Rebound.

Jacobs looks more like 6'6" to me and hes big, slow, zero jumping ability and cant rebound worth shite. I'd say he could do a better job down low than Jacobs is right now...and I haven't even seen the kid play.

Dejuan Blair is 6'6, has no ACLs, and is still one of the best rebounders in the NBA right now. Rebounding is about positioning and tenacity.

Did Dan say anything about how Coleman looked?
Posted on 12/28/12 at 9:04 pm to BigBird09
Holy shite! Justin Coleman just went off for 54 points. Helluva scoring night for a true PG. Sign him!
...and Wilson had 22 pts and 22 rebs and somehow Wenonah loses...

I just asked him and he said Coleman was awesome. He also says Wilson was probably not a guy we should offer. I still think it wouldn't hurt to take a chance. I guarantee he'd help us more than the post players we have now.

Grant also watched Riley Norris today

Riley Norris is the white kid from North Alabama. If so I like his game.

The high major scholarship offers are rolling in for Tifton (Ga.) Tift County standout Tadric Jackson.
“It’s going big,” Jackson said of his college recruitment. “I have some big offers like Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, NC State and some other offers.”
“It’s a lot of excitement right now and a lot of attention,” he added about his recruitment. “Coaches are calling me every day and coming to practice.”
Jackson has already taken a handful of unofficial visits.
“I went to Alabama,” he said. “Went to a game and a practice. Then I went to Georgia Tech, Georgia and then Florida.”
Although he noted that he hasn’t “narrowed it down yet,” Jackson did single out Alabama as the schools standing out the most right now.
“They are calling every day,” Jackson said. “Mostly every night. Coach [Anthony] Grant has been coming to games and come to see me practice. Coach [John] Brannen has come to see me practice.”

We need to get COlemen and leave this Jackson kid alone.

Why? Coleman is a pure PG and Jackson is a combo guard, so it isn't as if they can't co-exist. Not to mention the fact that Jackson is a hell of a player who apparently likes us.

Hopefully he is also keeping an eye out for 2014 6'8 William Lee out of Dallas Co....still very raw but has a lot of size and energy. Huntsville/Madison Co area always have some decent recruits and Madison County has a stud for them inside the paint.

Yeah. I was told they were completely different players so we would definitely want both because they fill different needs.
