Anybody heard anything else on who Bama might turn to in the 2013 class, so far I just have Travis Jorgenson, Corn Elder, and Demetrius Henry as the only remaining possibilities. Any others?

Probably a long shot, and I don't know if his grades have improve, but I'd like to see us go hard after Mostella.

Doesn't he have a reputation for being a bit of a headcase? Or am I thinking of someone else.

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's not just grades keeping Grant from putting an offer on the table. I'm just hoping we get the Jorgenson kid or a local prospect, preferrably a PG, that just comes out of nowhere and has a beast senior season.

Head case, bad grades, disrespectful, etc.

I think Grant would lose all credibility with the team if he brings a guy like that in after last year's suspensions.

Mostella isnt in this class anymore. I think he went to a prep school in Texas.

He's at prep school in Indiana I'm pretty sure. When did he reclassify?

Every recruiting site still shows him as part of the 2013 class.

Oh my bad your right. I remember him saying on twitter that he and the PG from Butler High School were going to prep school in Texas so maybe he didnt go through with his original plan. IMO we need to get him or another PG though. I would love to get Mostella and if it doesnt work out show him the door.

That's really not the kind of approach you can take with basketball. One bad apple can frick up an entire team. Look what Tony Mitchell did to us last year. Why would you welcome that kind of personality back onto the team?

We arent Duke we have to take chances if we want to win. Getting nothing but good attitude kids is going to get CAG fired. Not to mention this kid already has relationships with some of the kids on our team. He will end up at somewhere like Georgetown and be a beast. Another thing good kids frick up too. Remember Steele and Releford being in trouble some last year as well. Never would see a major team turn down a talent like him and thats why Kansas wants him.

Grant tried that. Remember Anthony Barber? The guy fricked this class over BIG time. Honestly I'd rather have a thief on the team than a bad attitude any day. Thievery is easy to punish and isn't near as contagious as a bad attitude. If we are going to take a chance on a potential chemistry threat, he better be a highly-touted five-star, not just a top 100 player. Risk is way too high for any reward he might bring, and btw Mostella is a short SG, not a PG.

Exactly. Off the court behavior issues can be fixed with discipline and a little maturity. It also doesn't have a huge impact on the rest of the team provided you don't handle it the way Stansbury handled Jabba the Center getting into a fight with his teammate on national television. Attitude problems poison locker rooms. Always have, and always will. If you risk that, it better be over a guy who can single handedly turn you into a Final Four caliber team.

So you guys have seen Mostella actually play and his attitude is that bad? Or are you just going off of what someone else is saying because I saw a AAU game and I didnt see it. Also he may be a SG but so is Lacey and he runs the point for us. Looking at todays game though Retin may be out man eventually but we will need another scorer from somewhere when Releford leaves or we are going to be in deep trouble.

Man just saw a post on another board about Alabama kids leaving the state to play basketball at other places. The kid that was mentioned was D.J. Harvey. Looked him up and he is from my city and I never heard of him. Man it sure is a lot of talent down here we just have to keep it. Kid is in the 8th grade and is already 6'4. Move to North Carolina to hoop just like Shannon Hale did. Look at some of his film SMH.

Maybe we dont need a PG this year if we can get Colemon next year. For some reason I thought Releford was a senior

Elijah Thomas graduates in 2015 so he's a long ways away, but he sure does like our players and Alabama in general. If we can get him to do team camps here or at least visit once a year, I think we have a great shot at landing him.

Well we don't have to worry about him any more, Mostella picked OKST.

Very little chance of him qualifying. I am glad we didn't go down that road even if he was going to qualify though. Everyone on this team has a good attitude, and we don't need another Tony Mitchell bringing them down to his level.
