thing is FSU and Clemson can make that move to the Big12 , VT is stuck no way around it. They may have jumped the gun by joining the ACC 9 years ago

Your reading comprehension needs help.

South Florida area (Miami/Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beach plus the Keys). I thought the comparison was more clear but I apologize for not making it so.
There are three in South Florida, one in Miami-Dade County, one in Broward County (Fort Lauderdale), and one in Palm Beach County. None are in the Keys.

South Florida is the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Palm Beach area plus the Keys. The Fort Lauderdale Chapter, the Miami Chapter, and the Palm Beach County Chapter is what I counted. I wasn't counting all the PSU Chapters in Florida.
Wikipedia link to the metro area definition (I added the Keys separately, they are not part of the metro area but are close by):

My bad the Keys part lead to some confusion located 100 miles south I was unaware the Keys were considered metro Miami.
If that was South Florida was the case I would have thought Naples would be included

Actually the Keys aren't. So that may have messed you up and thus I apologize.
But there is a Florida alumni chapter in Key Largo (which is just below Miami when you enter the Keys) so I added that chapter and the one in Key West.
Naples is in south Florida (geographically) but on the Gulf Coast, and is at least two hours south of Tampa (my SO's mom lives near Sarasota and she's one hour south, Naples is south of that) and is its own metro area.
